Not sure where to start?
You don't need a list of tech problems or the right words for them.
A few ways people usually start:
"If you could just fix this one thing, it'd save me so much time and money."
"I just wish this tech thing would work when I am trying to do this"
"THIS is what frustrates me."
No prep needed. We'll talk for up to an hour and a half. I'm listening and taking notes — this isn't a sales pitch, and I'm not trying to solve everything in this one visit.
I fix it on the spot. If I can give you anything to help you before I leave, I'll do that first.
I go figure out the rest. I go back to my desk and figure out what actually makes sense: what's worth fixing first, what can wait, and roughly what it'd cost.
